You could just imagine how furious I was when I got the ticket. The parking enforcement guy didn’t even come to my car. I know because I was in it. I received the ticket by mail with the excuse that he couldn’t place it on the car. He couldn’t place it on the car because I drove away. I actually saw the parking enforcement officer drive away; he just took a pen and paper and wrote my plates down. Oh well, you can’t win against an “expert witness.”

I just finished paying the ticket when all of a sudden, I hear the Pap Alert. Lindsay Lohan is shopping around Robertson Blvd. and there are no other Paps around. I run out of City Hall and I drive through the back streets. I get there in about 6 minutes from the time of the call. I am now driving southbound on Robertson Blvd. looking for the girl. I look around and I see four Paps casually hanging out, each one is carrying a big bag, on the corner of Robertson Blvd. and Beverly Blvd. My spidy senses start ringing…I found the location.

I rapidly park my car and head to the location. The other Paps and I start heading towards the store. I made it just in time. The first camera comes out from its cover, then all the others in unison. We snap a couple of shots. Then this West Hollywood Sherriff stops by. We think that he is here to bother us. Sure enough, he tells us to get out of the way so that he could walk into the store.

Then he starts chatting up Lindsay Lohan. He either wants to get it on with Lindsay or he wants to be a movie star (getting his picture on a tabloid). Sure enough, he wanted to get his groove on with Lindsay.

He gave her his business card. Lindsay pretends to be appreciative and places the business card in her purse.

Later the Officer finally comes out of the store because his efforts didn’t pay off. He starts jerking us around again. “Step away from the glass door,” he yells out. “Do not block the entrance,” we hear in the background. By now we are surrounded by the late comers…All the fans trying to get a picture. They were shoving us around. And people think that the paparazzi are aggressive!

Some fans want to be “Good Samaritans,” by saying to us, “Poor Girl! Leave her alone.” Then they turn around and ask her for an autograph and a picture, but not just any picture, they want to be hugging the celeb, intruding in their personal space. At least paparazzi give celebrities their space. We never touch them. Finally, the story is over. Lindsay takes off.

I was then driving eastbound on Melrose Ave. close to Urth Cafe where I spotted Nicole Mitchell Murphy walking down the street towards her car.

She was walking with a friend. I only managed to get a few shots since I was looking for Lindsay again. I knew that she was around the area since this is where we lost her.

Nicole Mitchell Murphy is an actress, model, and ex-wife of Eddie Murphy. She was looking great in her new silver Bentley. All of a sudden, Lindsay comes out of one of the backstreets. The chase is on. I follow her eastbound on Melrose Ave. I initially think that she is heading to her hotel, but she confirms that she is not by passing Crescent Heights Blvd. I see no other Pap in site and I think that I am home clear. This is going to be an exclusive I think to myself. She makes a left on Fairfax Blvd., and is now heading northbound. She doesn’t know that I am behind her. I am going to do this old school style. I am going to attempt at her not seeing me.

She pulls into a little driveway and into a parking lot. I pull into the driveway just before that. Then behind me, I see this SUV parking behind me. Damn! These Paps are good, so much for old school. I run to the front of the store.

Lindsay was picking out the nail polish color at a nail salon. She was with some friends and her assistant. They must have met her there. She sees me. I tell her, “That’s right, this is new school.” Ok, I didn’t say that! In case you don’t know the difference between new school and old school, I will explain the differences one of my days off.

She goes to the back of the nail salon. Why couldn’t she sit in the front of the store? Why is she trying to make it difficult for us to get any shots? Oh well, time to go back to the car to get the long lens.

I take a couple of shots. Even with a long lens and the poor lighting of the place, I was still able to snap a couple more shots.

She was getting both a manicure and a pedicure. She had time to do just about everything. She ate, she drank, she also read up on her tabloids. You see, even Lindsay supports the paparazzi.

Finally, it looks like she is done. We were there are the nail salon with Lindsay for about two hours. Does it really take that long to do your nails?

Then she said goodbye. Oh yeah, in case you think that we were bothering her by doing our job, guess what? Lindsay told us where she was going next. Go figure that!?
