Out of Sight Media - A Day in the Life of the Paparazzi!

I had planned on taking off today! I woke up really late and I started to mess around with my e-mail. I started to get a little bored, so I decided to go for a cruise around the town. I was killing time until traffic died down so I could take my motorcycle out for a ride.

I got into my car and off I went. Of course, I always take my camera because I never know who I’ll spot. I really didn’t plan on working today because I thought I wouldn’t find anyone. However, I should know myself a little better than that… I frequently find someone.

As I drove southbound on Robertson Blvd., I spotted Keanu Reeves’ car parked outside the Ivy restaurant. I didn’t see any paparazzi; I figured that they were all taking the day off. I found parking around the block and I slowly got my camera ready. Oh yeah, earlier I had stopped to get some coffee, so I also took that along with me to the restaurant. I was with an ‘I don’t care attitude’. “If I get him, great! If I don’t, great!,” I said to myself.

When I got there, Keanu’s car was still parked in front. I started to wait. No other paparazzi and no Keanu, yet! I waited and I waited. Minute 45 came and I finally got jumped by some paparazzi. They noticed me even though I had covered myself with the valet sign in front of the restaurant. They didn’t even know who it was. Well, I couldn’t expect to be exclusive on Robertson Blvd.

By the time Keanu came out, there were about eight paparazzi. It was totally non-exclusive. I went home after that.

I have received many comments regarding Keanu Reeves and how I was so mean in my blog. I actually don’t think that I was being mean since I was just merely commenting on how he acted. So, here is the video from that day so you can see for yourself.

What do you guys think? Was Keanu Reeves wasted?

I found Keanu Reeves late in the afternoon while he had dinner with a female companion and her dog. They were at Le Conversation and Keanu acted kinda strange. Every once in a while he would close one eye and leave the other eye opened. He stood up to answer his cell phone and when he walked back, he stumbled all over.

The grossest thing that he did was stick his finger in his mouth to loosen an article of food that must have been stuck somewhere on his teeth. Then, he looked at his finger after dislodging the food and laughed. I guess his dinner companion must have commented on that action?

Keanu then got up to stretch. He sat back down; he was completely impatient. As he ate, his food got stuck just outside his mouth and he did not notice. It was disgusting.

Luckily, he did not know that I was there while he ate; otherwise, he might have cleaned up his act. I hid in my car the whole time. I found parking just behind a car on the same side of the street as the restaurant, and had a clear view towards him. I felt bad for Keanu. He did look better though since he did shave.

I was on my route when I noticed Keanu Reeves’ car parked in front of Orso Restaurant on Third St. I also noticed a bunch of paparazzi claiming their area as they waited for Keanu to come out of the restaurant. I quickly found parking around the block. I got my camera with flash and I ran towards the restaurant.

When I got there, Keanu was still inside. I blended in with the paps and began to wait for him to come out. We all thought that he was going to exit through the front since his car was parked in front of the restaurant, but soon we discovered that the valet guy got into his car and drove it to the side door.

“Why was he making things difficult”, I thought in my head. Then all the paparazzi rushed to the side door where his car was moved to.

Keanu came out a few minutes later and he started to put his head down, so that no one could get a clean shot of him. He got into his car and took off.

I was up late last night taking shots of Nicole Richie and Brody Jenner and their guests as they celebrated Brody’s birthday at Privilege last night; I didn’t get to sleep until 6 AM. My Pap Alert goes off around 12:00 PM. I get a tip that Kate del Castillo was having lunch at one of the local eateries. I quickly get up and I put on my dirty clothes from last night and I get my gear. I’m half asleep and dirty as I head to see if I can get a few shots. Unfortunately, I didn’t get there in time. But it wasn’t long before I found Keanu Reeves and this mystery blonde heading into Orso.

I only got a few shots and it was time for me to wait. I went into hiding mode and I placed all the shades up in my car to camouflage me. Since I was on the main route I noticed these paps that had spotted my car and wondered what I was doing. They circled the street about three times before they parked nearby. One of them gets out of his car and starts looking around the Orso parking lot to see if he can identify what I was working on. I was getting jumped.

I called The Ninja to come help me out. By the time The Ninja arrived, the jumpers had already called three other friends. I had no choice but to go commando. There was a staircase that was blocked off by a plant. The stairs led to the second floor of the restaurant. I went to the plant and ran upstairs. I was able to knock off a few shots of the new couple having lunch together. The Manager of Orso comes out and asks me not to do that. I said ok and went back into my car.

I asked The Ninja if he wanted to get a few shots of the new couple eating and I told him about the stairs. The Ninja was a little more stealth than I was. He didn’t get caught. Well, I guess that is why he is called The Ninja.

By now, we had gotten a good set. All we needed to complete the set was a couple shots of them walking out. I had a great parking spot across the street from the restaurant, so The Ninja and I decide to wait inside my car. We were sure that we had much better pictures than our amateur-jumper competition.

The two soon came out and we came out of my car. We ran across the street and we started hosing them. We needed to get better shots than our competition. Keanu was cool with us. He never covered his face, even though it was a little flush.

The day started at The Grove. I was carrying my bag with my secret weapon inside of it armed with flash. There was security at the entrance and people lined up for miles, just to get a look at the treasure that lies inside. The place was guarded like a military fort with all the security pretending to be FBI with the earpieces pretending to be important. I put my event photographer look on. I told the first security as I attempted to infiltrate, “I am media”, and I showed him the weapon. The security next to him said, “Yeah, he has been here before,” and they let me in.

I was now inside. I see and acquire the target for termination. I slowly prepare the Canon hidden inside my bag. I have a clear sight and I fired the first shot.

It was Heidi Klum looking marvelous. Isn’t she pregnant?

My camera flash loads my next round. Note: This is what makes my job fun; I am pretending to have a semi-automatic weapon.

I fire the next shot. I get her clean…

Alessandra Ambrosio is one of the Victoria’s Secret girls that I have a small crush on. My girlfriend was really worried that I was going to run away with her today, so she kept calling me on the status. I love my girl and I would never do that. As a matter of fact, I hardly paid attention to Alessandra today, since I was more concentrated on the money maker, Heidi Klum.

By this time, my cover has been exposed. I guess I don’t play a good event photographer. This security guard started to ask me to move to another location, and then he got an ego boost of authority. He kept coming to me and saying, “You are not with the event.” I told him that I was press and I represent Out of Sight Media. Note: this is the first time that I have used my company name to represent myself in an event. However, by now he was determined to kick me out. I said to him, “Ok, ok, I will go.” I just went to another side of the room. I noticed some stairs guarded by another security guard that doesn’t know me. I tell him, “Can I take a few stairs to take a shot?” He said, “Sure, but you have to move on after taking your shot, since we cannot have people on the stairs due to the fire codes.” I responded, “No problem, I will be quick.” Bam, I snapped another shot.

This time I got Karolina Kurkova giving the piece sign to an undercover snapper. I started to think to myself, how come she can be that close?

The security guard spotted me again. He really has it going for me. He wants me out. He tells me, “You need to leave now.” I said, “Chill, I am just doing my job.” He starts to escort me out. I take my last shot.

I was able to complete my set with Izabel Goulart. I didn’t even know she existed. She looked like a normal girl to me. Do you guys think she is hot?

I was on my way now to do some real work. I have never really been a fan of event photography. It requires a different talent in photography since the subject is already there. You don’t have to go and find it. It is time to do the hard stuff. I was now on my normal route.

By this time, I picked up my friend Jonathan, (http://www.inhousephoto.com). He woke up late since he stayed up playing video games until six in the morning. Go figure!

We were on 3rd St. close to Robertson Blvd. heading eastbound to pass by the local eateries. Jonathan makes the first spot of the day. Note: We usually do a race to see who finds the first spot. It was Gwen Stefani’s Range Rover heading eastbound in the same direction. The chase was on. We followed it for about 30 minutes. We kept looking inside the car to see if we could verify that Gwen is in the car. After about another 15 minutes, we finally concluded that she was definitely not in the backseat with Kingston. It was just the driver running errands. Even though Gwen was not in the car, I still gave the first spot honor to Jonathan.

Soon we were back on our route. I was on my way to pay my tipster 20 bucks for the phone call that he made of Jennifer Lopez the other day. I couldn’t make the call and I told him that he can call someone else from the competition. I still pay for good tipsters if I know it is a valid call (a few days later I verified the shots on a tab at that location) even if I cannot make the call. If I was able to make it and let’s say that it was an exclusive set. My tipster would be paying his next phone bill with the tip that I would give him. Hint, Hint.

I spotted Keanu driving his Porsche with a girl passenger. I called my tipster that we have been diverted for a few moments and that we are in hot pursuit. My tipster said, “No worries, I am here till seven.” It was about 3:30 PM at the time. Keanu was heading eastbound on Melrose Ave. It felt that we were headed back to the place that we just came were we left Gwen’s driver. Keanu makes a left on La Brea Blvd. He still has not spotted our car, but he keeps looking back. To make a long story short, we were close to Franklin Blvd. where he makes a right. By this time he has spotted us and floors his car. He makes a left on Outpost Drive and that is where we lost him.

By the way, did I lose any of you with all the street names? Do you want me to continue to be detailed or straight to the point?

We made it back to our route after two failed attempts. I called my tipster to tell him that we are now really on our way. We were going southbound on Crescent Heights Blvd. and there goes Rachel Hunter. The chase is on again. We make a quick U-turn. There was plenty of space between that car and mine. I don’t even know why he is honking his horn.

We quickly catch up to Rachel. She makes a right into this parking lot. We park our car on the neighboring driveway and both Jonathan and I get out of the car fully armed. She went into this dry-cleaning place. We snap a couple of shots inside. Rachel is always cool with photographers so long as you give her the space that she deserves. We back up and take a nice distance from the store. She is still inside. Soon she comes out carrying two or three pillows.

Ok. She is getting her three pillows cleaned, that is very normal. She then starts to put them in her car which is also normal. Then we hear some sort of shopping cart sound from the back of the drycleaners. Soon we see the cleaner workers with three carts full of pillows.

The workers help Rachel fill her car with tons of pillows. They managed that and one of the workers runs to the back. Rachel’s concerned by now and asked another worker, “Are there more?” The worker responds, “Yes!” They bring another cart full of pillows.

Rachel starts to laugh as they get the last batch inside the already loaded Escalade. I think she is preparing for a Great Pillow Fight. Don’t you think?

Hello All!

Thank you for all of your comments; I enjoy reading your perspective. My website is still a work in progress. I just started with the first post this past Thursday, July 27, 2006. I welcome any and all comments to help me improve this website so it is more enjoyable and user friendly for you all. I really do appreciate all of your comments and all of your support. Since most of the fans that have visited this website are Keanu fans, I will give you a few older pictures of Keanu Reeves. By the way, that girl with Keanu at the Ivy (in the previous posting) was actually very drunk; maybe she was ready for a nap and that is why she looks bored.

These pictures were taken in 2004. I found Keanu heading to his car after having lunch with this other mystery lady, then he went to the Four Seasons Hotel. Enjoy!

It all started with Dustin Hoffman and his daughter, Ali Hoffman. I found them as I was cruising by Toast Cafe in West Hollywood. They just finished having lunch. Darn! I missed the good eating, stuffing food down the mouth shots. So, I started to follow Dustin who was on the driver’s side. He really didn’t have a clue where he was going. We circled the city a few times before he stopped at this clothing boutique called Scout in Los Angeles, CA.

After they were done shopping, they decided to go see a movie at The Grove in West Hollywood. Well, they where less than a block away and they didn’t have a clue where it was located. They started to walk towards Fairfax Blvd. on Third St hoping to find The Grove. Well, at least they where headed in the right direction. After a while of chasing them, they decide to backtrack. When they did that, I was uncovered; they saw me. That is when Dustin finally realized that he was being PAP’ed. He approaches me and asks, ‘Do you know where The Grove is’ I responded, ‘You are standing on it.’ They where a little confused. So, I put down my camera and gave them a grand tour of The Grove. They wanted to go see a movie, so I took them to The Grove’s theater. They were in such a good mood that they gave me a couple of posed shots together. One warning he gave me, ‘Spell my daughter’s name correctly, her name is Ali, with an ‘A’. I guess all the tabloids are getting it all wrong.

Soon thereafter, I get the call from another Pap friend of mine, Jonathan (www.inhousephoto.com). We usually work together on jobs. He was shooting Gwen Stefani and cute little baby Kingston. I couldn’t make it there to the shoot since I was on hot pursuit of this other actor. Unfortunately for him, he got away.

Well, we where off to find more fish. As soon as I was on the route, I spotted Meg Ryan’s car. Jonathan and I waited there close to three hours before she came out. What the hell was Meg Ryan doing?!? She supposedly was getting a facial at the health spa in West Hollywood. But for three hours?!?

Since we were done for the day and happened to be close to Halle’s house, we stopped to view our catch for the day. We were turning on the computer to swap out images and all of a sudden, I see this car pulling into Halle’s driveway. Soon after that, I spotted Halle sneaking into the passenger side of that car. The chase is on again! Tired and dehydrated, we were off after her. She ended up going to this hotel on Burton Way. Can you guess which Hotel she went into?

Ok, It was night time, at home, and I was working on editing all these images. All of a sudden I get the PAP Alarm that Linsay Lohan was eating with Harry Morton at the Ivy. I run to my car and get there using all the shortcuts that I know. Time to wait for her to come out. Soon, on a corner table I spotted Keanu Reeves having lunch with a chick. I think it is his sister?! However, on the caption I am going to call her an ‘unidentified female companion.’ That will make it juicy!

Keanu decides to leave through the back of the restaurant, but I hosed him anyway.

All that happened today! What a day in the life of two Paparazzos.

Well, I hope tomorrow I can wake up for work. It is about 5:39 AM and I am still updating the images. I need to get to bed!!
